Course Description:
This comprehensive course is designed for speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in pediatric feeding therapy for infants and children. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of feeding and swallowing development, common etiologies affecting feeding, and how to assess and treat a variety of feeding difficulties. Typical Development: Understanding normal feeding milestones and progression from infancy through early childhood.
Underlying Etiology: Identifying medical, sensory, and structural factors contributing to feeding challenges.
Becoming Familiar with Infants: Recognizing cues, behaviors, and early signs of feeding difficulties in infants.
Types of Assessments: Reviewing clinical and instrumental assessment tools to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
Clinical Presentation: Identifying different feeding disorders and their manifestations across various populations.
