Who does occupational therapy treat?
We treat a variety of age groups and areas of concern spanning from birth to end of life. Feeding, fine motor, emotional regulation, sensory integration, motor planning, executive functioning, behavioral concerns, etc. We treat it all!
Why should I pay for private speech therapy if my child is already being treated by a school speech-language pathologist?
We are confident your child’s school-based speech-language pathologist is doing a fabulous job! However, school-based therapy services often take place within a group setting, which can result in limitations when it comes to intensive care. At Sweet Magnolia Speech Therapy, PLLC, we provide individualized one-on-one care targeting your child’s specific needs.
Will therapy be in-person?
Yes! While we do offer teletherapy services, some aspects of development cannot be targeted sufficiently via a computer. Each individual will be assessed to determine whether or not they would be appropriate for receiving services via teletherapy.
In addition to teletherapy, we offer in-office therapy services!
There’s no way my child will attend during teletherapy sessions. How is this going to work?
It’s okay! We do not expect your child to attend to a camera or sit still for 30 or more minutes. We believe in empowering the most important people in a child's life with the tools to support ongoing development at home, school, and in the community. Parent coaching is an excellent option for children who are not ready for direct therapy.
What will I need for a successful telepractice session?
For clients who can participate independently, we recommend being located within a quiet area free of distractions. A headset is almost always necessary to ensure speech and language is heard clearly.
For clients who need a parent or guardian present, we recommend being located within a quiet area where you and your child can be alone. It is imperative that the parent or guardian be fully engaged throughout all session activities.
What is your attendance/cancellation policy?
We know people get sick, emergencies happen, and sometimes plain old life just happens. You may have to cancel last minute! As per our cancellation policy, every client is allowed one cancellation without a 24-hour notice, per 6 month interval. After that, you will be charged a $40 fee for canceling treatments and $80 fee for canceling evaluations without 24 hours notice.
Why is my credit card information required to book an appointment?
Your credit card information is required as a place holder for your evaluation or treatment session. It will only be charged in the event of a no call, no show; late cancellation; or request from client for their session upon arrival.
